我不是說那是好還是不好；好壞由你決定。我當然也有期望！我甚至對我的狗都有期望。牠們是兩隻小小的博美犬，牠們不喜歡任何人進到院子。牠們好像認為那是他們的。

有時我會偷偷溜進去……牠們不知道是我，於是就開始叫。我就說：「怎樣？怎樣？」牠們就變得非常、非常不好意思。

這並不是說就一定是二選一，「你該有期望？還是不該……」這不是重點！但有一種心靈狀態是，你是自由的！你對你自己很滿意，而無需別人的贊同或反對！你認識到……真實的你不是這個沙漠，而是埋在沙漠裡的種子。

朋友啊，故事的重點不是沙漠！它會看起來像沙漠……沙漠看起來就像沙漠，會比繁花盛開的時間要長得多。繁花盛開只會持續幾天。這是知道的，對吧？就只有幾天，它只持續幾天，然後，就不見了。

種子是如何在沙漠中活下來的？它必須要下工夫。它做了投資。它大可以在別的有很多雨的地方！但它沒有；它以它的獨特性去了沙漠。這就是可能性；這就是你的力量！這就是可以發生的事情……只要你願意在裡面投資。
