You have this life. That is important. That is true. That is real. Given that you have this incredible opportunity to have this thing called “life,” what would you do with it? Would you squander it away? Or, would you embrace it and make the most of it?

One moment lost is not a moment that is coming back. Such is the severity of this subject. This life has to be lived consciously. You cannot afford anything else but that simple singularity in your life—to pursue that one thing that is nothing less than fulfillment every single day.

What does it mean to open your eyes, to understand this rhythm, this dance that is everywhere, this beauty that is vying for your attention? Delight. Embrace this life. Take in the joy that your heart wants you to feel. It’s there to be felt every day.

In the contrast of everything that’s going on in your life, this is happening; that’s happening. And you’re trying to cope and cope and cope, trying to make things better and better.

And you have your hopes and dreams and ideas. And you look at the world, and you look at yourself, and you want the world to be good. And some days, you want to be good. And you want your neighbor to be good, and you want your cat to be good, and your dog to be good. And you want all these things to be good.

And this is your pursuit. It sounds ridiculous. Your clothes, your shoes, your car, your friends—is that what life is?

And in this business of “late” and “late” and “late,” one day it will become too late.

I never want it to be too late for you to be fulfilled. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, how intelligent you are. You have got to have a plan. And what is the plan? “If I wasted today, I’m not going to waste another second lamenting that I wasted today. I’ll come up with a plan for tomorrow. I will try a little harder”—and that’s all it takes.

That’s all it takes, to be a little more conscious. Be focused; be conscious. And most importantly, enjoy every single moment of this life.

The Living Legacy 00:03:28 The Living Legacy Video Duration : 00:03:28 Make the most of being alive. Enjoy the self.

Life is a beautiful thing. This is what we have. This is the limited thing that we have. It’s about you being alive at this moment in time, on this planet Earth.

And what kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Because that is going to be determined with what you feel in yourself. If you feel good being alive, if you feel good to be here, then what you’re going to leave behind for other people is something that is beautiful!

This is the message that I am trying to deliver to the world today, that I have been doing for fifty-one-plus years now—and this year I’m going to be turning sixty. Maybe my body is aging, but my heart isn’t; my mind isn’t. And I want to take this message to as many people as possible.

Why? Because the joy that it brings them, the excitement that it brings them—just how they feel after they go, “Wow, somebody told me how it really is, not all these ideas, but how it really is—that, yes, my time on this earth is precious. That I’m alive, and that’s a blessing! And I need to accept that. And I need to understand what it means to live in peace."

"Peace gives me hope. Peace gives me love. Peace gives me a strength I’ve never known."

Because when somebody feels good inside of them, not only it ripples out to themselves, but to all the people around them, to the family, to the friends, to the colleagues—and this is what’s important.

"Mr. Rawat, your teachings have taught me to appreciate every day and to be thankful for what I have. In here, that means a lot. Thank you."

This is my effort, taking the message to people to make a change, to make a difference.

Happiness 00:05:12 Happiness Video Duration : 00:05:12

Prem Rawat:

What makes you happy? Is it something you do that makes you happy? Is it a sequence of circumstances that makes you happy?

Because we know the word "happiness," but we haven’t truly felt what happiness really is. We know the word “freedom,” but we do not know how to be free. We know the word "kindness," but we don’t know how to be kind.

Happiness is a state of contentment.

Onscreen text:

Happiness

When you are content, not here, but here, in the domain of the heart—in the domain of the heart, when you are content, when this heart is content....

Let me tell you something. When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift. When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift—a very different kind of gift. The gift this gives you is, "More. More." And when you satisfy this, this gives you a gift, too.

When you satisfy this.... You go shopping; you see a suit; you see a dress? This goes, "Buy it. Buy it. Buy it; it's nice! You will—you will look so good in it. Buy it." So you buy it. After you buy it, it gives you a gift. You know what the gift is? "hmmm.... It’s not as nice as his suit."

You buy a new car; you are very happy; you’ve got a brand new car, "So nice," and you’re sitting in your car. And then all of a sudden, a better car comes up, and this gives you a gift: "Should have bought that." It’s called "the gift—the gift of dissatisfaction." This is the gift this gives you.

When you satisfy this, this also gives you a gift. When you satisfy this, this immediately gives you the gift of peace. "Here, peace!" When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift of, "Here. Enjoy this, a little happiness."

The day—the day you can smile and not know why you are smiling, that is the truest smile. The day you can laugh and not know why you are laughing, that is the truest laugh. And the day you can be happy and not know why you are happy, that is the day of, "Ah," the gratitude, "Thank you!"

That is the day you become really thankful because you don’t know what you did to deserve this, but you feel it, and you go, "Thank you! Thank you for being alive." That is the way to live.
