Prem Rawat: There are people on the face of this earth who are very rich. There are people on the face of this earth who are very poor! There are people who are very educated; there are people who are not very educated. There are people who are very nice! There are people who are not very nice.
But what do we all share in common? I’ll tell you what we share in common. And there is no exception, no exception whatsoever. One day we came in this world; one day we have to go from this world, regardless of who we are.
So, now that we have established those two points, (the beginning and the end), this defines this period of time that we have on the face of this earth. And this time that we have between those two points of when we came, to when we have to go, it’s called “life.”
And here is something that I would like to tell you. Contrary to what you may believe—contrary to what you may believe, you and you alone are responsible for what happens between the two points. (Oops. I said something really intense, didn’t I? Whoa.)
Even if you lived between those two points for a hundred years, that’s only 36,500 days. Thirty-six thousand five hundred days? You have time for gadgets? Do you really have time to go around and go in “envy mode?” Do you really have the opportunity or the luxury of FOMO? (Fear of missing out?)
Even if you are ninety-eight years old, your scale should not change. Your scale should still say, “How happy was I today?” Not “How fried I am today.” “How happy was I today? How much peace did I feel today?”
This could be in the worst of the circumstances. “How fortunate did I feel today”; these are the tools you need to start gathering the good. Because you ask, “What is wrong,” right? You ask “What is wrong?” Your whole focus is “Something is wrong. What is wrong? What’s, what’s wrong?!”
You don’t come into a circumstance going “What is right?” What is right? Look at what is right. Even in the direst circumstances, you are not abandoned. There’s an incredible thing happening. Only happens once.
Never since the history of this creation was there one like you. No one. You’re it. You’ve got to take care of yourself. Because never again for as long as this earth is going to be, there is ever going to be another like you.
Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, you are irreplaceable. Seven-point-nine billion people, (actually, it’s 7.89 but they rounded it off), 7.9 billion people on the face of this earth. And you are unique. Capture that. Capture that uniqueness. Take pride in that uniqueness. Don’t try to be “normal.” Be who you are, the exception to the 7.9 billion people; you’re the exception.
More than enough food is produced to feed the whole world. Do you know that? Do you know that? The earth actually produces more than enough food to feed the whole world, every single person, comfortably! So why are people hungry? Greed. Greed. “Throw away food. Throw!” People throw away food.
Do you know what is also one of the largest contributors of methane gas to the atmosphere? Do you know? Food—that’s how much food is thrown away; it actually affects the atmosphere. They bury it, and it rots, and it produces methane, and it goes into the atmosphere.
There are solutions; there are solutions. But the solution begins with you first. When you are happy, then the happiness is contagious. That’s why you like being around people who are happy—because happiness is contagious! You don’t like being around people who are mad, angry, always crying, because it’s contagious too. Sadness is contagious. Joy is contagious.
Find the source of joy in you, and hopefully it will infect you. Infect you! And, enjoy this life. Enjoy this existence. Enjoy this being.

Prem Rawat:
What makes you happy? Is it something you do that makes you happy? Is it a sequence of circumstances that makes you happy?
Because we know the word "happiness," but we haven’t truly felt what happiness really is. We know the word “freedom,” but we do not know how to be free. We know the word "kindness," but we don’t know how to be kind.
Happiness is a state of contentment.
Onscreen text:
Happiness
When you are content, not here, but here, in the domain of the heart—in the domain of the heart, when you are content, when this heart is content....
Let me tell you something. When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift. When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift—a very different kind of gift. The gift this gives you is, "More. More." And when you satisfy this, this gives you a gift, too.
When you satisfy this.... You go shopping; you see a suit; you see a dress? This goes, "Buy it. Buy it. Buy it; it's nice! You will—you will look so good in it. Buy it." So you buy it. After you buy it, it gives you a gift. You know what the gift is? "hmmm.... It’s not as nice as his suit."
You buy a new car; you are very happy; you’ve got a brand new car, "So nice," and you’re sitting in your car. And then all of a sudden, a better car comes up, and this gives you a gift: "Should have bought that." It’s called "the gift—the gift of dissatisfaction." This is the gift this gives you.
When you satisfy this, this also gives you a gift. When you satisfy this, this immediately gives you the gift of peace. "Here, peace!" When you satisfy this, this gives you a gift of, "Here. Enjoy this, a little happiness."
The day—the day you can smile and not know why you are smiling, that is the truest smile. The day you can laugh and not know why you are laughing, that is the truest laugh. And the day you can be happy and not know why you are happy, that is the day of, "Ah," the gratitude, "Thank you!"
That is the day you become really thankful because you don’t know what you did to deserve this, but you feel it, and you go, "Thank you! Thank you for being alive." That is the way to live.
In your home is peace. In your home is wisdom. In your home is clarity. In your home is light. In your home is the joy. In your home is fulfillment. But the only one that is not home is you. So, come home.
– Prem Rawat
Does the heart say, "Go to Timbuktu." Does the heart say, "Go to this place?"
No. The heart says always one thing. And it's so simple.
Be content; be happy. Be in that place; be in that enjoyment.
Be. Be. Just be.
-Prem Rawat
Live your life with a thirst and a focus and you'll succeed at whatever you want.
Find the water—the water that dwells within you. The answer that is waiting to be recognized. You are looking for peace and peace is looking for you. And what do you need to do? Be still. Stop running around. Be still, so that the peace can find you.
You have in you the love that you've been looking for. You have in you the joy that you have been looking for. You have in you, the truth that you have been looking for. You have in you the divine that you have been looking for.
